{"id":2545,"date":"2010-01-30T23:36:29","date_gmt":"2010-01-31T06:36:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/astrowin.org\/rffriends\/wpx\/?p=2545"},"modified":"2012-12-04T21:04:28","modified_gmt":"2012-12-05T04:04:28","slug":"first-decade-ends-april-14","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/astrowin.org\/rffriends\/wpx\/?p=2545","title":{"rendered":"First Decade Ends April 14"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The First Decade of the New Millennium Ends <\/strong><strong>April 14, 2010.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Chapter 5 of Ger W\u2019s biography may prompt some readers\u2019 questions where the author states near the top of page 73:<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Rosicrucian Cosmo-Conception <\/em><\/strong><strong>was published at the end of November, 1909, a little more than four months before the end of the first decade <\/strong><strong>[<\/strong><strong>April 9, 1910<\/strong><strong>].<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Elder Brother had charged Heindel with the task of publishing the book by the end of the first decade of the new century.\u00a0 In the Heindel writings, the determination of when one decade ends and another begins regarding this purpose is inconsistent.\u00a0 If you ask any member you might get vague uncertainty, a willingness to debate the issue or even a firm conviction about whether the first decade of the current millennium\u00a0ends at the end of 2009 or at the end of 2010.<\/p>\n<p>There was also confusion at Mount Ecclesia regarding celebration of the new millennium which was celebrated at the end of 1999, and then like an afterthought celebrated again at the end of 2000, \u2013 a seeming oddity for an organization that specializes in astrology, studies cycles, and publishes ephemerides?<\/p>\n<p>We read in Chapter 5 that Heindel worked feverishly, even ruining his health, to meet the deadline given by the Elder Brother, \u201c\u2026\u2026Had it not been for the support of the Elder Brothers I must have gone under. It was their work, however, and they saw me through\u2026. yet I was almost a wreck when the strain was past.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Heindel writes, in \u201cBirth of the Rosicrucian Fellowship,\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>In addition he was told that the teachings must be given out to the public before the close of the first decade of the century, which would be the end of December, 1909<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>She further supports her statement: <em>We will give here a few of Max <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Heindel&#8217;s own words<\/span> descriptive of his work in Chicago: &#8220;<\/em><cite>The Rosicrucian Cosmo-Conception<\/cite><em> was published in November, 1909, about five weeks before the end of the first decade of the century.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>To confuse the issue, we read in<em> The Teachings of an Initiate<\/em>, on page 144:<em><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 This being the case, you will appreciate the care which the Elder Brothers must take before confiding so important a message to anyone, particularly as such a teaching may only be given out at certain times. As the seed of plants is planted at the beginning of the yearly cycle, so also must a philosophical seed such as that of the Rosicrucian teachings be planted and the book published in the first decade of the century, which commences a new cycle, or the opportunity is lost till the next cycle rolls around. One messenger had proven faithless by 1905. Then the Brothers turned to myself, and entrusted the teachings to me after I had passed a certain test in 1908<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">. The Rosicrucian Cosmo-Conception was published in November, 1909, a little more than a year before the end of the first decade.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>It is very unlikely that Heindel would have suffered tremendous strain to meet a deadline if he still had one year remaining in that timeframe.\u00a0 Since \u201cThe Teachings of an Initiate\u201d was compiled from various Heindel writings<em>, \u201ca little more than a year before the end of the first decade\u201d<\/em> is probably an editorial mistake.<\/p>\n<p>If it is correct that\u00a0he finished the task about five weeks before the deadline, the book would have been published\u00a0very close to the November Full Moon\u00a0which was\u00a0November 27, 1909, and in <em>Birth of The Rosicrucian Fellowship<\/em>, Mrs. Heindel states that the Cosmo was published at the end of November.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s likely that Heindel probably\u00a0took \u201cbefore the close of the first decade of the century\u201d to mean\u00a0what most people would conclude \u2013 \u00a0by the end of the year, 1909.<\/p>\n<p>Soon, however, Heindel would have an experience that may have changed his idea about when the decade ended.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0He says:\u00a0 <em>On the night of <\/em><em>the 9th of April, 1910<\/em><em>, when the New Moon was in Aries, my Teacher appeared in my room and told me that a new decade (cycle) had commenced that night.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The other quotes\u00a0were probably taken from words spoken or written in the short period after the publishing.\u00a0 \u00a0It was later, on that April night in 2010, that the Elder Brother came to\u00a0Max Heindel\u00a0and said,\u00a0this night\u00a0is the beginning of a new decade.<\/p>\n<p>These facts\u00a0probably account for the confusion in the Heindel writings,\u00a0and is why\u00a0Ger,\u00a0\u00a0in the biography, <em>Max Heindel and The Rosicrucian Fellowship,<\/em> says that the book needed to be published before the decade\u00a0(CYCLE) ended on April 9, 2010 &#8211; (not by the end of the calendar year).<\/p>\n<p>It makes good astrological sense that the Aries New Moon determines the onset of the\u00a0new annual cycle, a\u00a0new 100-year cycle, or a new millennium.\u00a0 It is not the calendar but the solar system, which is our clock.\u00a0 And so we conclude, the first decade of the New Millennium ends April 14, 2010.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2546\" style=\"width: 502px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/astrowin.org\/rffriends\/wpx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/New-Decade.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2546\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2546\" title=\"New Decade\" src=\"https:\/\/astrowin.org\/rffriends\/wpx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/New-Decade.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"492\" height=\"476\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2546\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">New Decade April 14 2010<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The First Decade of the New Millennium Ends April 14, 2010.
