When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee. \u00a0Isaiah 43:2<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/i><\/h3>\n

The shower of moonlight falls as still and clear <\/span><\/p>\n

Upon this desert main <\/span><\/p>\n

As where sweet flowers some pastoral garden cheer <\/span><\/p>\n

With fragrance after rain: <\/span><\/p>\n

The wild winds rustle in piping shrouds, <\/span><\/p>\n

As in the quivering trees: <\/span><\/p>\n

Like summer fields, beneath the shadowy clouds <\/span><\/p>\n

The yielding waters darken in the breeze.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Thou too art here with thy soft inland tones, <\/span><\/p>\n

Mother of our new birth; <\/span><\/p>\n

The lonely ocean learns thy orisons, <\/span><\/p>\n

And loves thy sacred mirth: <\/span><\/p>\n

When storms are high, or when the fires of war <\/span><\/p>\n

Come lightening round our course, <\/span><\/p>\n

Thou breath’st a note like music from afar, <\/span><\/p>\n

Tempering rude hearts with calm angelic force.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Far, far away, the homesick seaman’s hoard, <\/span><\/p>\n

Thy fragrant tokens live, <\/span><\/p>\n

Like flower-leaves in a previous volume stored, <\/span><\/p>\n

To solace and relieve <\/span><\/p>\n

Some heart too weary of the restless world; <\/span><\/p>\n

Or like thy Sabbath Cross, <\/span><\/p>\n

That o’er this brightening billow streams unfurled, <\/span><\/p>\n

Whatever gale the labouring vessel toss.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Oh, kindly soothing in high Victory’s hour, <\/span><\/p>\n

Or when a comrade dies, <\/span><\/p>\n

In whose sweet presence <\/span>Sorrow dares not lower, <\/span><\/p>\n

Nor Expectation rise Too high for earth; <\/span><\/p>\n

What mother’s heart could spare <\/span><\/p>\n

To the cold cheerless deep <\/span><\/p>\n

Her flower and hope? but <\/span>Thou art with him there, <\/span><\/p>\n

Pledge of the untired arm and eye that cannot sleep:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The eye that watches o’er wild Ocean’s dead, <\/span><\/p>\n

Each in his coral cave, <\/span><\/p>\n

Fondly as if the green turf wrapt his head <\/span><\/p>\n

Fast by his father’s grave, <\/span><\/p>\n

One moment, and the seeds of life shall spring <\/span><\/p>\n

Out of the waste abyss, <\/span><\/p>\n

And happy warriors triumph with their King <\/span><\/p>\n

In worlds without a sea, unchanging orbs of bliss.<\/span><\/p>\n
