{"id":987,"date":"2009-09-07T17:43:12","date_gmt":"2009-09-08T00:43:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/astrowin.org\/rffriends\/wpx\/?p=987"},"modified":"2010-01-24T21:45:28","modified_gmt":"2010-01-25T04:45:28","slug":"spreading-the-teachings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/astrowin.org\/rffriends\/wpx\/?p=987","title":{"rendered":"SPREADING THE TEACHINGS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"center\"><strong>SPREADING THE TEACHINGS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>A Rosicrucian Fellowship Centennial Talk<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-988\" href=\"https:\/\/astrowin.org\/rffriends\/wpx\/?attachment_id=988\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-thumbnail wp-image-988\" title=\"Jorge Rey\" src=\"https:\/\/astrowin.org\/rffriends\/wpx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/Jorge-Rey1-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Jorge Rey\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>By Jorge Rey<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 As the driving theme of this Summer School is the Modern Face of the Ancient Teaching, it will be helpful to understand what the Elder Brothers constructed in the past, what they are doing in modern times and what we can do, as individuals and as groups, in order for us to stay attuned to their pitch and impulse with the Western Wisdom Teachings.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 If we read the Rosicrucian Manifestos we find an exact correspondence with the central topic of this School:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<strong><em>Our philosophy is nothing new. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>It is the same as Adam received after his fall<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>and Moses and Solomon used. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>It need not doubt nor refute the opinions of others,<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>because the truth is indivisible and terse and always remains unchanged\u2026\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Also that they anticipated things to come, by saying:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<strong><em>We know very well now that it will be rather long before\u2014<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong><em>according to our longing and the expectation of others\u2014<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong><em>\u2026 <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>the reflections of our Father Christian about all things<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong><em>discovered, developed, and increased by human intelligence,<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong><em>either by divine revelation, or by Angels and Spirits,<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong><em>or by the acuteness of the mind, or by experience of daily observation,<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong><em>are so outstanding that for future generations<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong><em>even the almighty God would trash all that has been written,<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong><em>and from that lay new foundations for science<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong><em>and erect a new triumphal arch of truth for creation in the world<\/em><\/strong><strong>&#8230;&#8230;<\/strong><strong><em><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong><em>There will be a sufficient general reformation,<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong><em>in the human as well as in the divine<\/em><\/strong><strong>\u2026\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u2026\u2026..And the dawning of a new and reformed point of view for everybody.\u00a0 The method they used was described in the same Manifestos of 1614:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<strong><em>We often direct letters to the good people; philosophers, medical men,<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong><em>theologians, and those who practice chemistry know them.<\/em><\/strong><em><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We are told by Max Heindel and modern researchers that they worked thru alchemists like Paracelsus, philosophers like Tobias Hess, Studion, Mystics like Jacob Boheme, writers like W. Shakespeare, scientists like Francis Bacon,\u00a0 Robert Fludd, \u00a0V. Helmont, \u00a0and Comenius, and Initiates like J. W. Goethe.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Our Elder Brothers packed a set of principles, mostly symbolic, into their writings, including the above mentioned: <em>Fama Fraternitatis, Confessio,<\/em> and <em>Assertio<\/em>.\u00a0 It was 1614.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Almost 300 years later, a new impulse was set in motion; a manifestation appeared, in closer and deeper contact with the general public. Max Heindel became the authorized messenger of the Elder Brothers. This beloved Initiate brought to earth newness of spirit and gifted humanity with a precious:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Magnum Opus, <em>The Rosicrucian Cosmo Conception, <\/em>which is<em> <\/em>according to Harold Sammuli, a new version of the book, <em>M<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Rosicrucian Fellowship, the public preparatory school.<\/li>\n<li>Healing System.<\/li>\n<li>Lovely Motto: A sound body, a pure heart and a noble mind.<\/li>\n<li>Rays &amp; Echoes, published continuously for more than 90 years.<\/li>\n<li>New Symbol :<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-989\" href=\"https:\/\/astrowin.org\/rffriends\/wpx\/?attachment_id=989\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-thumbnail wp-image-989\" title=\"simbolo\" src=\"https:\/\/astrowin.org\/rffriends\/wpx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/simbolo1-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"simbolo\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Also, The Rosicrucian Fellowship, for 100 years, sounded the Echo around the world.\u00a0 Students and Probationers from around the world chartered centers and study groups, so the world has been offered the opportunity of knowing, sharing, and living our Temple Service and our Healing Service; of attending public speeches and regular meetings; of studying by email or snail mail the preparatory courses of more than 130 free lessons on Preliminary Philosophy, Supplementary Philosophy, Esoteric Bible, and Spiritual Astrology.\u00a0 To assist in study, the writings by Max Heindel became available on a searchable CD.\u00a0 Most recently our beloved website, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rosicrucian.com\/\">www.rosicrucian.com<\/a> , gives world-wide exposure to the teachings of Heindel and the Elder Brothers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-1010\" href=\"https:\/\/astrowin.org\/rffriends\/wpx\/?attachment_id=1010\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-thumbnail wp-image-1010\" title=\"Stereopticon Front View2\" src=\"https:\/\/astrowin.org\/rffriends\/wpx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/Stereopticon-Front-View24-150x150.png\" alt=\"Stereopticon Front View2\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Yes, dear friends, Max Heindel, as a true pioneer, used the best tools available in his time in order to present the teachings attractively. He used, for example, the stereopticon, a projector that in conjunction with another one, allowed the presentation of a sequence of animated images, the forerunner of modern marvels such as Adobe Flash and heavily used Powerpoint with its special transitional effects between slides.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The RF became a genuine Aquarian presence, allowing the general public to read all of the books. \u00a0\u00a0In recent years, more and more initiatives are being generated by friends around the world, some of them using, right now, web 2.0. Let\u2019s note some examples:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rosicrucian.com\/\">www.rosicrucian.com<\/a> , our first World-Wide-Web presence that was a new point of maturation from the previous one, the BBS.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rosicrucianfellowship.org\/\">www.rosicrucianfellowship.org<\/a> , as a sister site devoted to the general membership.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fraternidaderosacruz.org\/\">www.fraternidaderosacruz.org<\/a> , a beautiful and rich content site, by friends in Brazil.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.RFFriends.org\">www.RFFriends.org<\/a> , a modern blog with the lovely Rosicrucian Hymns and music for the twelve Zodiacal signs, which is constantly updated with current events and articles.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fraternidadrosacruz.com\/\">www.fraternidadrosacruz.com<\/a> , an initiative from friends of Ecuador.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/groups_layout?name=rosanet\">http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/groups_layout?name=rosanet<\/a> , with more tan 12 versions of the pamphlets<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Max_Heindel\">http:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Max_Heindel<\/a> , our presence at Wikipedia, the online encyclopedia.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Of course, web 2.0 offers more options, which are used intensively by young people:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Facebook: Right now an initiative is emerging, with lovely pictures and remembrances of the centennial. \u00a0Members can post pictorial images of their local activities.<\/li>\n<li>Twitter: Another possibility of sharing instant news about specific themes. \u00a0Very powerful for feeds directly from cell phones.<\/li>\n<li>Messenger ads: These can be used for promotional effects.<\/li>\n<li>Hi5, Sonico, UNYC, Tagged, etc\u2026<\/li>\n<li>Podcasts, Webcasts:\u00a0 And before many days pass, we will have podcasts of Sunday Chapel Talks, or conferences from around the world.<\/li>\n<li>YouTube\u00a0 cinema: Is a growing\u00a0 field for creativity<\/li>\n<li>MySpace, inclusively: \u2026\u2026.if somebody wants<\/li>\n<li>Blogs:\u00a0 Type \u2013 <em>your name<\/em>.blog.com<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 However, there are yet more possibilities\u2026 some of them go beyond Facebook, let\u2019s see:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ScribD.com\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0\u00a0 Sharing documents<\/li>\n<li>Ustream.tv\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0\u00a0 Live broadcast, free<\/li>\n<li>FriendFeed\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Knowing about others<\/li>\n<li>Meetup\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 For meetings<\/li>\n<li>Migente\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 To socialize<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Groups, around the world are\u00a0 aligned with this new trend toward collaborative efforts.\u00a0 Lets look at a few examples: \u00a0some of them dedicated to socializing, others to healing matters, others to demonstrating the power of thought.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Heart Math Institute<\/li>\n<li>Charityfocus.org<\/li>\n<li>The Intention Experiment<\/li>\n<li>Soulmedicine.org<\/li>\n<li>Enlighten Next<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Questions arise, however, with respect to these global phenomena:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Is the internet another subtle way of being separatist?\u00a0 i.e. \u00a0Jehovistic?<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Or, Luciferic?
